SKTyler.com has come a long way since it's first appearance on the net in February 1996. SKTyler.com, or Castle Shyla as it was known then, started out as a mere three room choose your own adventure. In a few years it expanded into a six region world taking on the name Realm of Keari. It wasn't until the first domain name (aellalei.com) was purchased in 1999 that SKTyler.com gained it's new name and became something more than just a fantasy adventure. The name persisted for many years before becoming SKTyler.com in late 2006.

Though SKTyler.com has been on the net for 12 years, the design has been fairly stable. Version 1.0 was a simple, black layout, designed to showcase the adventure and a few short stories. With Version 2.0, a green design, the Realm of Keari began to take a back seat to other works like publications. Version 3.0 and Version 4.0 shifted Aella Lei Online to the more familiar blues and purples. Version 5.0 was the first version on the SKTyler.com domain and the first version to allow multiple themes. The previous appearance, Iced Purple will continue to live on, but visitors are now offered a choice.

You are currently viewing Version 5.1.2, an iterative change from 5.0, with some additional buttons and text content about the personal life of Sarah updated.

In late 2001 aellalei.org and aellalei.net were acquired. These two domains were not purchased to contain new sites but to hold the names for possible use in the future. The original plan was for the games may move to aellalei.net while the personal aspects and journal move to aellalei.org leaving the store and resources for the dot come. But these changes never materialized. Currently these domains just redirect to sktyler.com.

In 2003, the domain name athenascape.com was perchased. The first, athenascape.com was designed to be the new games site. Later that year, shadowplanes.com was perchased to house online novels for a new world Sarah was creating.

In October 2006, Aella Lei Online became SKTyler.com.

In June 2007, the domain BlueCentauri.com was purchased and Obsidian Studios became Blue Centauri Consulting. The name "Obsidian Studios" was a great name that, unforunitly, many other people also discovered. Rather than worry about potential name collesions, I thought it best to select a new, more unique name.

Now SKTyler.com is more of a network, spanning 6 domains. It contains resourses, publications, games information and more, consisting of thousands of documents. But what ever the version number, color scheme or domain name, the intent has always been the same, a place for me to express myself and support the causes I believe in online.
